If you can see Seoul Forest and the Han River from your bedroom, isn't that enough? The penthouses of Galleria Forêt can be purchased for KRW 5.2 billion (USD 4.8 million) and the ones designed by Jean Nouvel cost KRW 5.7 billion (USD 5.3 million). The exterior & roof construction is almost finished and the official moving day will be someday in June. Forêt The Mall also opens in June and many luxurious furniture & interior brands will open here. FYI, Hyundai is planning to build its GBC (Global Business Center) on the next block.

Some parts of the Han river are still frozen, but it may be helpful for the engineers to construct these islands. I am not sure how energy-efficient their glass curtain walls but they seem pretty outstanding.
By every second, I can feel that the development of Seoul is moving forward, but I still can't remove the idea that Seoul doesn't have a real landmark..especially artwise. Dongdaemun Design Plaza & Park (DDPP) might make a difference but the complex will be mainly used for exhibition purposes. Then, have a look at the Nodul Island Opera House. The architect of the National Museum of Korea and the Songdo Art Center, Seung Hong Park has visualized the waves of the Han river. The gigantic stainless steel roof has an image of the Korean traditional dance and the exterior elevations go with the flow of the river. Plus, tens of thousands of LED lights will make it look different by every second, every minute, and every time you look at the building. Its location is quite unique so wherever you are in this complex, you can enjoy the sunrise and sunset of the city. On the east side, it will be occupied with an opera theater (1,751 seats), a symphony hall (2,100 seats), and a multipurpose theater (400 seats). On the west side, more static facilities as an observation cafe, museum will be constructed. The main opera theater will have two basement levels and eight ground levels. So, you can take a bus to the island and escape from the crowded city and have a pleasant, relaxing time. If you can't wait for it, why don't you have a look at the video and some photos? We know that Yongsan U.S. military base will move to another place, then what will fill the hugh space? Here's the idea from the city. Six parks will be made to become a green network connecting Namsan and the Han River and on the UNC site, 50-story commercial buildings will be constructed. The park district will be 2,420,000 square meters. Each park will have a theme and they are named as 'U-Eco Park', 'International Culture Park' and so on (I think it is kinda stupid though). The complex district will occupy 2% of the total space and will be about 180,000 square meters. Commercial buildings will be developed along Hannam New Town. The Shin Bundang Line will be connected to the Yongsan Park, so its accessibility will be improved. These are still simple sketches and I will keep updating you guys when I hear something.
